Black Books Galore! offers an informative slide presentation called Celebrating African American Children's Books. This multimedia experience explores the background of, and the current trends in, African American children's book publishing. This presentation is geared towards parents, teachers and librarians. The objective is to provide participants with a fuller understanding of the range and depth of African American children's books. The various collections of books, centered around themes ranging from family life to folk tales to historical picture books, are explored. In addition, the presentation includes a hands-on activity demonstration and a show-and-tell of the most recent books published. Handouts are distributed and there is a contest for all participants (with a prize!)
